Spanish I students began with a 1/2 worksheet of sentences where they had to fill in the blanks with the correct forms of SER. We reviewed Subject Pronouns and Ser as a class and practiced each. Quiz 9.4.19 over Subject Pronouns Ser and Time See Documents pg for today's ppt w class review, practice and new notes as well as today's warm up worksheet on Ser. Time worksheet only avail. in classroom. Spanish I students picked up a 1/2 worksheet on the way into class today and were to correct the errors on the Spanish sentences. We then reviewed our Spanish Subject Pronouns and how to use them. After this we added to our Subject Pronoun notes with notes on the Verb Ser. Using our Subject Pronoun chart (that will be used with all verbs) we conjugated the verb Ser. We went over all the meanings and how none of the conjugations can go with any of the other subject pronouns. We filled in blanks with the correct conjugation then wrote complete sentences in Spanish using Ser. At the end of class we played matamoscas to reinforce Ser as well as review U1 vocab.
We will have a Grammar Quiz 9.4.19 (subject Pronouns and Ser) See Documents pg for today's ppt w/ class review/practice and new notes/practice as well as the warm up correction worksheet. Spanish I students picked up a study guide on the way into class today. When they completed that, we reviewed it for accuracy. We played Quizlet.live for a study review game in class.
Quiz tomorrow over U1 vocab, def/indef articles, making plural nouns and masculine/feminine nouns. See Documents pg for today's ppt w our class review as well as the study guide for tomorrow's Quiz. Spanish I students came in and picked up a 1/2 worksheet where they placed the correct definite and indefinite articles on the nouns given based on their gender (masculine/feminine) and # (singular/plural). We reviewed as a class how to tell what category nouns go into. After practicing this as a class, we completed a worksheet on it. Then we started our new notes on the Spanish Subject Pronouns. As we were taking the notes down, we talked about the differences between all the words for YOU in Spanish (one is formal and one is informal). This led us into a discussion on how different cultures use the class system, etc to determine who you can speak informally to and who needs to be spoken to formally. This got the kids really involved because it is so very different from what they are used to here in the United States. Great talk! And a few silly moments added in too. :) We will continue our notes on the Subject Pronouns in class tomorrow.
Quiz Tuesday over U1 vocab, definite and indefinite articles See Documents pg for today's ppt w/ new notes and class practice as well as the warm up, class worksheet on definite articles and the guided notesheet for our new notes. We took new notes today on nouns, their gender and making them plural. After practicing this as a class, we worked in our groups to identify the correct category of nouns for a list of words by adding the correct definite and indefinite articles to them.
Those who did not finish this in class, will need to complete it for homework.
