Hola! Welcome back! I hope everyone enjoyed their fall break!
Spanish I students began class by writing sentences in Spanish using the verb Estar and various prepositional phrases and vocab from U2. As a class, we reviewed the verb Estar, how it is used and all of its conjugations. We also reviewed some of our prepositional phrases with an easy to remember chant with hand motions. After this, I gave them instructions to add to their classrooms from Friday with locationmsentences written in complete Spanish sentences and agreeing with the classroom they drew on Friday, Sept 20. (The written instructions for this are on today's ppt.) We will present tomorrow. This will be for a test grade! See Documents pg for today's ppt w/ warm up, class review and instructions for the Classroom Project including Friday's portion.

Spanish I students began by translating sentences into Spanish using the verb Estar from yesterday's notes as well as their U2 vocabulary. We reviewed yesterday's notes and added on to them. We learned a chant to help remember some prepositional phrases and practiced using them with the verb Estar in sentences. We also began our U2 Classroom project where students had to draw and label a classroom with 12 of the classroom objects from the U2 vocabulary.
We will add to this project on the Monday we return from Fall Break. See Documents pg for today's ppt with Estar review and new notes along with our class practice and directions for our Classroom drawing. Spanish I students started class by translating given sentences where we used the weird verbs Gustar and Encantar as well as some of our regular -ar verbs all along with U2 vocabulary. We reviewed how to use Gustar/ Encantar as a class, then students read some of the sentences they wrote yesterday to the class. They then completed an interview using Gustar practicing the 1st and 2nd person forms orally while writing in 3rd person. After this, we took new notes on the verb Estar (to be for location, feelings and emotions). We practiced conjugating Estar correctly then translated some sentences using feelings, emotions and locations.
