Spanish II students translated some sentences today using all the grammar we have learned in Unit 5. We reviewed each section as a class and practiced them. We listened to an authentic song and filled in the blanks with the appropriate verb conjugations as well as the dop and practiced placement of the dop. After the song, we played Jenga with a Ser/Estar review then played Palomitas to review all grammar sections

SpII students began with a textbook activity to practice Direct Object Pronouns. We reviewed the DOPs from yesterday's notes and practiced those We then added to yesterday's notes on DOPs with sentences that contain two verbs back to back and where we can put the DOPs in those sentences. We reviewed Ser/Estar and looked at some adjectives for each verb. Students completed a worksheet suing Estar with adjectives of emotions. We reviewed present progressive and practiced with a game of matamoscas
Quiz 9/4/19 over Ser/Estar and Present Progressive See Documents pg for today's ppt w/ warm up instructions, review, practice and new notes as well as the estar worksheet from today. Spanish II students were to write their own sentences using present progressive and U5 vocabulary at the beginning of class. We reviewed the present progressive, how to form it as well as how to use it in sentences. After this, we took new notes on Direct Object Pronouns (DOPs)- what they are and how to use them in Spanish. Because of the placement of the DOPs in Spanish in relation to the conjugated verb, I told students to think of this like "yoda talk." It I have instead of I have it because that is the way it is placed in Spanish. Hopefully this makes it a little easier for them. We practiced this a bit as a class, then students completed a mini worksheet on their own.

We reviewed for the quiz as a class then took the U1 vocab Quiz. After the quiz, students picked up a worksheet to complete. Those that did not finish in class will need to complete for homework.

We reviewed how to form and use the present progressive then I added new notes-- the irregular present participles. After practicing these as a class and orally with our groups, we moved on to review for tomorrow's U5 Vocab Quiz. We practiced circumlocution, played Quizlet.live and played a competitive game of X's and O's.
Quiz tomorrow over U5 vocab-- Spanish to Spanish See Documents pg for today's ppt w/ warm up, review of present progressive, and new notes on irregular participles Spanish II students began with a circumlocution sheet with our new Unit 5 vocabulary. After this, we reviewed what we learned on Ser v/s Estar in Spanish I and added to that for Spanish II purposes. We listened to and filled out the lyrics to another song- this one using Ser, Estar and forms of. Students then received a worksheet on Ser v Estar. Students have to write the correct conjugation for the correct verb in the blank and tell me the reason for it being that particular verb. In order to do this, students will need to understand the sentences. This pulls a lot of Spanish I material into what we are doing in Spanish II. 2nd block did not finish this worksheet so they were to take it home to complete for homework.
Quiz over U5 vocab Tuesday (this quiz will be Spanish to Spanish) See Documents pg for today's ppt w/ review, new notes with practice, and song link as well as today's warm up, song lyric sheet and Ser/Estar worksheet. SpII students were to write their own sentences utilizing our new Unit 5 vocabulary in complete Spanish sentences. We then reviewed the new vocabulary using circumlocution. I gave them several definitions in Spanish where they had to find the correct Spanish vocabulary word that fits. Then they had to give me their own definitions in Spanish for vocabulary words I gave them. We completed a listening activity from our textbooks then filled out the lyrics to an authentic Spanish song that we listened to.
U5 Vocabulary Quiz Tuesday, 8.27.19 this will be Spanish to Spanish See Documents pg for today's ppt w/ warm up, vocab review, textbook pg for listening activities and link for song. The worksheet for the song is only available in the classroom crate. Spanish II students began class by correcting a series of incorrect sentences in Spanish. After a class review, we took the Leccion Preliminar Test. After the test, students picked up the vocabulary for Unit 5 to complete.

SpII students picked up a study guide for the Leccion Preliminar Unit that we have been working on since day one. We went over the study guide as a class and students had the opportunity to have me go over anything in greater detail. We then played Palomitas to review for tomorrow's test.

SpII H students picked up a practice sheet on their way into class today. As they were working on this, I took up our 3 written warm ups from this week. We reviewed the practice sheet as their quiz has the same format and is over the same information. We reviewed as a class for a bit, then took our new quiz over present tense verbs. After the quiz, students were to pick up and complete a verb grid practicing stem-changing verbs in present tense.
